The trend for two-tone walls

The trend for two-tone walls has been popular for the past year, and is the perfect way to combine two of their favourite hues. Have a read of some of our favourite pairings to create an on trend kid's room:

Pastel Pop

Great for a fun, playful look – ideal for younger children’s rooms. Team teal and mint with sunshine yellow for contrast and to bring in a little warmth.

Add extra personality with a scalloped edge line break.

For a stronger combination, combine bold mustard with pale sky blue.

Classic Sage

For more traditional, muted tones, consider Sage green. A versatile, warm green, this hue coordinates with so many colours from rose pinks through to creams and grey and is also a great option for gender neutral designs.

For a classically styled room, consider adding tongue and groove panelling and use the rail as the natural break between the two tones.

Black and neutral

Charcoal grey, anthracite and black creates a bold and boundless look when used in combination with neutrals.

Select soft biscuit tones and style in a Scandinavian, subtle way for a sophisticated palette. Paint the darker colour on top to bring high ceilings down and to draw the eye upwards. For a tonal look, vary the beige tones with a variety of textures throughout the room and use black as the highlight colour to pull the scheme together.

For a warmer palette, opt for a caramel colour to balance the black. Add in a variety of golden tones to create a cosy style.

For a pared back aesthetic, pair two slightly dfferent neutral tones together.

Adjacent wall colour blocks

You don’t always have to split the same wall with two colours. For a modern, colour blocked effect, try painting two adjacent walls in slightly different shades.

Select timeless navy for smart bedrooms

Navy is a strong hue that works best painted on the bottom of the wall. It works particularly well when paired with soft greys, white and beige for contrast.
