Whilst it may seem a little while off, in the interiors world, we’ve been looking ahead to 2024 and have been planning new designs and freshening up some of our own product presentations too.
So we thought we might share some of our top 2024 style insights with all our little folks – and especially some of those that we reckon would work wonderfully in our little ones’ rooms!
Without further ado, here are our top 5 takeaways for 2024:
- The rise of the hybrid home
Born out of the Covid pandemic a few years ago, many of us have been ‘putting up’ with desk areas shoe-horned into living and dining spaces, and guest rooms joining forces with living areas. It’s now time to look beyond necessity, and design for life. In other words, we need our homes to work harder and smarter. These hybrid, or multifunctional spaces are calling out for clever design. – This is where multifunctional desk beds and space saving high sleepers can really come into their own. Whether it’s for a guest room-come-office, or a child’s bedroom, they’re the single most useful bed type when it comes to helping to zone areas and make a room work harder.
- Statement style
One off pieces, known as the hero of the room, creates a space that is dynamic and impactful. Think furniture and beds that take the lead in the style stakes, and own the room.
Our recently launched Bowood bunk is a true statement piece, in Painswick Blue. The boldness of colour contrasted with the gentle spindle design gives it an understated timeless authority. – Ideal for creating a room with personality.
- All the trimmings
Cutesy scallops, routered edges and beaded borders are all playful ways of adding a fun touch, which we think work brilliantly in a child’s room. Add these to dado or picture rails, or around a door frame for a child-friendly finish.
- Retro-chic
With a real ‘70s come back seen in all walks of life, from music through to fashion, it’s no big surprise that we are seeing more of the beloved ‘out there’ 1970s curves and colour come through into the world of interiors. For a nod of nostalgia, look out for bed designs with curved edges. The two-tone of the Edit range provides an edgy, modern update on this heavily retro inspired design. Perfect for young bedrooms and the guest room alike!
- Peachy Keen
With the Pantone colour of the year for 2024 having been announced this week as Peach Fuzz, prepare for the sweet, saccharin shades of melba and nectarine to make a statement in the interiors world. From the deepest tones of caramelized peach, through to the softest pastels, the colour once associated with flamboyant 1980s bridesmaid dresses is set for stardom when it comes to colouring our homes. We think Peach would make a wonderful backdrop for a grey toned bed, such as the Classic bunk bed in Dove Grey. - Scrumptious!
And there you have it – our top 5 styling tips for 2024.
