It's a Spring thing: 5 ways to refresh their room for Spring

Whilst we can’t think of any parent who has the time (not to mention the pennies) to refresh their little ones' room seasonally, there are lots of small tweaks you can make to take their room from winter to spring, and inspire them with a new space in which to sleep, study and dream.

Here are our Top 5 ways to spruce up their space for spring:

1. Swap out the blankets and cushions for a different colour. Popular colours for this spring include all different tones and tints of Green, Yellow, Rust and Warm pinks. Opt for mixed patterns in the same tones for interest, and look for themes of nature for a dose of outdoor fun.

 2. Replace any fluffy, or thick duvet covers with fine cotton or linen options. As it’s still pretty chilly out there, layer up with some removal blankets for snuggly sleep.

 3. Repaint the walls. If you have wallpapered feature walls or panelling, try giving their room a new lease of life by repainting the walls above, below or surrounding the wallpaper. Opt for highlight colours within the wallpaper for a coordinated scheme, like these bedrooms below. We opted for a neutral on the panelling for a smart and sophisticated look, and for a bolder vibe we chose a Cyan blue. Both work well with the wallpaper, but create a very different feeling in the room.

 4. Re-jig the layout. This always brings a fresh perspective to the space, and can be particularly helpful when a child is upscaling to a bigger bed, or if you’re looking at how multifunctional beds will fit a space. We always recommend either using scaled digital design programs, or drawing out the furniture as birds-eye-view icons on graph paper to see how best to lay out their room.

 5. Switch up the wall art. Whether it’s a new set of stickers, or framing a few of their favourite drawings, hanging new art work is an (almost) instant and striking way of changing the theme of a room. To cover large walls, try using larger prints, and for smaller spaces, gallery walls work well. Objects and collections on shelves also make impactful wall décor.
