Pantone have released their Colour of the Year for 2025, and it’s an earthy, deliciously cocooning Brown tone, Mocha Mousse.
We thought we’d take a look at some ways that you can use this inviting colour in your child’s bedroom.
Whilst not an obvious choice for a child’s bedroom, Brown can actually be a really warm and versatile hue for children's rooms and can be successfully applied as a neutral base for other colours.
Here are five applications of the colour:
Accent Walls:
For a daring take on the colour, apply the rich brown over one feature wall, or even below a dado or picture rail, to create a grounding focal point. Pair with lighter, brighter tones like Mint Green, or Blush Pink to keep the space feeling light and bright.
Textiles:
Cushions, blankets, rugs and duvet covers are all ways to bring in the chocolate brown tone into their space, without it being overpowering. Natural, sustainable style prints would lend themselves well to this trend, as well as lots of texture and open weaves.
Pattern and Print:
Add a playful touch to their room with wallpaper prints with brown shades, or even patterned cushions and blankets.
Furniture:
This is the perfect reason to add in a little vintage furniture to co-exist with their other bedroom furniture. Teak or Mahogany tones are ideal pairings with deep indigo blues, or even creamy whites, and add a warmth and sophistication to a space. Shelves, chairs and bookcases are all great ways to mix up the furniture with something older.
Layering:
Combine layers of varying brown shades to create a balanced, harmonious feel. Darker browns and caramel shades blend beautifully with this grounded, warm colour, and hints of Gold help add a luxurious vibe.
Will you be trying the Mocha Mousse trend?
