Real Bedrooms: Creating a study space with Mummy Constant

With the summer months in full swing and the school holidays on the horizon, many of us will be seeking out the perfect study/hobby desk and chair to zone their rooms ready for the new school year.

We were very excited to work with top blogger and writer, Mummy Constant last month on her revamp of her son Noah's bedroom.

They transformed his space from a spare room into a fabulous bright and airy teen bedroom, complete with a geometric vibe and splashes of vibrant colour.

We love the little details such as the geometric paint shapes on the walls, which pull the whole look together in a fun way.

The full width floating shelves are a great way of injecting some personality through collections of hobby items, trinkets and books, and the blue curtains frame the window perfectly.

And 10 points if you spotted our wonderful Edit desk and Retro chair combination!

Doesn’t it look fantastic in this vibrant space?

We adore the use of colour blocking above the desk, and Noah could even use the blue base for sticking up anything from study notes to inspirational images to keep him motivated when studying!

The hanging headphones in cobalt blue are a really fun way to create a display from a practical object in a bedroom.

Here’s what Sonia had to say about the Retro chair and Edit desk:

“The desk is from Little Folks Furniture; we received the storage desk and retro chair bundle(£330). It is such good quality wood and feels smooth, even around the edges which is perfect for a kids room. Especially a small kids room. I love the clean look of it and Scandi feel. It is modern and retro all in one! Noah just loves it too. He uses the storage for his football books, or his LEGO manuals and he sits and builds his LEGO at his desk or does his homework. It is the perfect size for him and really brings together his boy bedroom makeover incorporating all of his favourite things into one space. I love furniture that is easy to build, but feels like it is built really well and this took me about 30 minute to put together and feels very secure. The instructions were very easy to follow; I was impressed! You can also buy the storage desk and retro chair separately too! Perfect if you need a new desk or chair for your little person’s space.”

Our Edit desk features solid Beech legs for sturdiness, and this also creates a stylishly Scandi vibe with the white tabletop. Underneath the desk surface are decent storage cubby holes; ideal for floating bits of paper, or stacking lots of exercise books. The Retro chair design has strong mid century modern style influences, which gives it a nice twist, and the comfortable curved back helps support little ones when they’re seated.

We also have other desk and chairs in our range, including the Fargo study desk with ladder back chair. A more classic take on the desk and chair combination, the Fargo has traditional styling and is available in a variety of classic colours, to suit all spaces.

Happy styling! x
