5 ways to use a Little Folks Furniture trundle

We all know that precious floor space is at a premium – and particularly so when it comes to children’s bedrooms. From creating more space to play, to freeing up room for a chest of drawers or wardrobe, we also know that we need to make the most of the space we have.

If you have a Little Folks Furniture single, bunk or small double bed, one of our biggest bits of advice would be to make best use of the space under the bed.

A trundle bed, otherwise known as a sleepover trundle, storage drawer or storage trundle, is one of those multifunctional pieces that you’re going to want in your child’s life.

Here are 5 ways that you can use a trundle bed in their room:

1. Roll it out and dress it up for a sleepover

Possibly the most obvious option, but a trundle really comes into its own when it can be used as a spare bed (for both adults and children alike!) Super handy during the festive season when you might have last minute guests, this spare bed simply just rolls out, with no need for any assembly. - Just make sure that you buy a trundle size mattress to pop in it before your guests arrive!

2. Use it as a toy drawer

The perfect option to store all those tiny toys, a trundle drawer is a fantastic way of containing all the bits and bobs that will otherwise get lost in the ether.

3. Roll it all the way out and create a low, cosy sofa set up

Create a fun seating area by setting up some cushions along the back of it against the wall. Making the perfect little reading nook, or even a (rather comfy) makeshift sofa for movie watching.

4. Store their clothes in it

Trundles are the ideal vehicle for storing clothing that easily rolls or folds up – like jumpers or trousers, Marie Kondo style.

We just can’t promise that they’ll stay folded for long!

5. Make it into a play table

With their flat bottomed bases, our trundles make the most wonderfully sturdy and secure play tables.

Perfect for construction toys and unfinished puzzles on the go, or even for setting up a train set in, they’re great for containing toys – especially when it’s hoovering time around the children!
